Has any one got one of these on their machine? The claims seem to be crazy for just a slip on!!
This little bit of infor is right off the site

Barkers Performance Exhaust now manufactures and sells snowmobile exhausts! The new Barkers Exhaust Yamaha Nytro Slip-On Exhaust gives you a 12hp Gain and is 12lbs Lighter than the stock Yamaha snowmobile exhuast. Dyno sheets and more information will be posted soon

12hp from a slip on, sounds crazy to me...... maybe 12 with a slip on and full header system maybe....
Help me out here :o|
Thanks guys

I remember when Barker first came out with that claim. I emailed them questioning their claim and the owner said that they dynoed the exhaust along with a fuel controller.

FALSE ADVERTISING! I wouldn't buy from them ever, due to that liar.

I've spent enough time dynoing full header/muffler combos to know that NO slipon will gain you 12hp...not even with a fuel controller. You need a full system, with airbox or filters and a fuel controller to gain that...A slipon is good for 3-4 HP tops....been there, done that. A full header/muffler system is good for 8-9hp on it's own...whether it be Hindle or Excell...so a slipon by itself isn't going to produce more than a full system.

Thank you, i was sure i was not out to lunch on this! Just trying to get more power out of this little girl!

I have Barker, I have to agree that 12hp is unrealistic, probably more like 4-6, however I like the sound and weight saving

Hmmm well it is a 2008 nytro 121 rtx and I have a skinz seat, excell header, mpi high flow pipe, race track 1.75, float x's up front, k&n filters, pcv w/ auto tune, team clutch, reverse deleted, all non structural bolts have been drilled out, ballistic battery 6-8 cell, sly dog skis, shave twenty thou off the head , ported and polished the head, removed head light and all un-needed wiring, and a msd studder button lol for fun, primary clutch has been machined down so i can run bomb springs or yamaha ones, re-valved shocks in the rear,

on order,
air frame running boards
new clutching
oft steering relocator
zbros a-arms

:o| I just wanna push it a bit more..... always more!

Well, if you are looking for more HP from your sled than you are looking at boost...cause with everything that you've gone done to it you are pretty much maxed out HP wise...aside from a big bore and cams that is. Dirkdiggler ( a member on here ) added a Barker slipon to his set up ( Excell header, K&Ns, PC3 mapped ) and gained 4hp over the stock muffler...and you already have an MPI slipon so I doubt you will see much more than what you are already pushing...1HP if you are lucky...not enough to justify buying one IMO.

He also had to have his rev limiter raised in able to make that extra 4 hp from the barker.

Perhaps you could gain a little more efficiency in the driveline by upgrading to larger idler wheels, hyperfax slides and a lighter, lower lugged track...maybe different gearing?

the gearing has been changed to 40/22 for a 1.81 ratio, I thought about bigger wheels but when the skid couples on a 121 the 8" wheels will hit the back of the rear arm, Anything less than 1.75 track and i cant get around in the mountians..... I have a boosted 121 as well for drag racing , I wanted to build a "stock" nytro for keeping up with 800 mods and the newer sleds,

You could always switch up your exhaust to a Hindle...it will flow a bit more than what you are currently running...due to the larger primaries...that might be what you need with the ported head...JMO.

That might be a great idea, hindle header and a high flow slip on from mpi. It never hurts to get more flow

You won't be able to use the MPI slipon as it won't work with Hindles header....totally different bend in the mid pipe. Unless you can fab something up...Hindle may be able to but they would need a Skinz seat to do it. Check out Revsters thread in the 4 stroke Garage forum...his system would work best for you, and the Hindle muffler will flow as much or more than the MPI...sometimes it's better to use a setup from one manufacturer.
