No not a crock! I work on the machining side. Making the Alum. Parts.
My son Installed the slip on last winter on his 2014 Nytro. With the EHS controller. My son or I have personally had it on the dyno. I do know for a fact the exhaust has been tested on a dyno! That is how the tune of the controller was developed.
I'm sorry you guys think the way you do. I just hope we meet on the trail someday. So you can see that it works!
Happy sledding!

The Barkers slip on exhaust will add UP TO 12HP! BUT!!!! ( NOTE ) THAT NUMBER WAS ACHEIVED WITH THE ....EHS Fuel controller ! The quiet core will knock off a couple HP.
A good track with a quality clutch kit and you will be happy!
Well then my new Yamaha Jacket will add 30HP. I just need to do the intake, exhaust, fuel controller and lighten it up some.
I would rather get the numbers straight.

First off, have had these on two different sleds, with and w/o quiet core, and with and w/o fuel controller. Sounds Fantastic and does feel improved from stock performance. It's well made, light, looks great, holds up and fits perfect in stock plastics.
Now as for the "up to 12hp"...well... Here's a pic of the dyno graph from the box. As you can see, 3-5 would be generous over stock at stock peak of 8600, but the barker keeps making power after the stock falls off, so it does show +12hp over stock, but at 9400rpm! A little creative? Maybe. But could you clutch to 8900-9000 and pick up 3-5hp from stock? Sure.
So...bottom line... Sounds great, looks great... But not a full exhaust, just don't expect it to be and you'll be happy!!!
How much of a difference in volume did the quiet core make?

They say 103db without, 94db with. To be honest I find it hard to tell much difference with a helmet on, and hard to quantify. My neighbours might disagree!
Post up another dyno run from your sled and prove the 12hp claim. A member added that slip on to his sled that already had a header, filters and fuel programmer.....it made 4 more Hp. The claim is false and everyone knows it. Slip ons have been proven to make 2-4 hp and no more. There is NO MAGIC in a muffler....especially on the Nytro design...the real power is in a full system with intake mods and tuning....been proven! No not a crock! I work on the machining side. Does anyone know what the stock dB level is?They say 103db without, 94db with. To be honest I find it hard to tell much difference with a helmet on, and hard to quantify. My neighbours might disagree!
How does the Barker compare to the Schmidt Bros in volume?

If my memory serves me correct the stock db is about 85 at idle and maxed out at 88. I used a db meter to check this but I didn't write down the number like a moron! I was testing levels of different exhausts as I wanted a better sound without major db increase as I ride almost all trail in MI. I tested a MPI and a Super Q. Super Q was slighter louder then stock, I think about 4-6 db but the MPI was out of this world louder, maxed at roughly 114db. Again these are from memory so please don't quote. Maybe I will look into the Barker slip on instead of adding a turbo!! I ended up with the Skinz Super Q.
