I just picked up an 07 Attak and the bearing behind the secondary exploded . The shaft hit the carrier the bearing sits in. Does any one know if this can be replaced or repaired?

Just had a similar situation on my 06. The bearing let go and the shaft pulled ahead eating up the outer race and slightly into the carrier but not enough to hurt anything. The carrier is actually part of the rear bulkhead which you probably want to avoid changing unless absolutely necessary. It's not a super hard job...just lots of rivets and time.

Upload some pictures of the damage so we can see how much damage their is

Here is what I am working with.

Because that bearing race is part of subframe...I would clean that up as best as possible, include the groove for the circlip.
Before installing new bearing test fit the circlip and do what you can to ensure it snaps in securely to what's left of clip groove, then install the new bearing assembly and clip it in. Make sure you get the bearing, collar, and nut installed securely...it only goes on one way and use all new parts.
Take your time with all of this and you should be good to go with an occasional inspection and annual greasing.

You should check the straightness of the jackshaft. When the bearing behind the secondary on my Viper cooked, it must have got super hot. Hot enough for the shaft to bend slightly right where the bearing race was. I didn't notice it right away until I had the new bearing installed and gave everything a spin before putting the chaincase back together. You could clearly see the secondary clutch wobble due to the bend. Had to take it back apart and replace the jackshaft.

You have to take the chaincase apart anyway, definetly replace the bearing for that shaft in the chaincase side as it has been side loaded when the other bearing failed

Once your repair is done remove secondary and bearing seal and flush out with WD40 and re grease after each season …. all original bearings still on my 07 apex. 20k miles...

Was the outer bearing race still in there or was everything gone? It looks like the circlip groove is worn right through at the front too. If you can get the circlip groove fixed up enough to hold the clip and the bearing still fits tightly into the bulkhead I'd run it and hope for the best. You'll want to check the jackshaft to make sure the collar wasn't spinning on it and damaged the area where it tightens up. Like someone else mentioned you may also want to check and change the chaincase bearings as they probably felt some pretty good strain with that much deflection.

IF the sled was cheap and you like a good project changing that rear bulkhead isn't super hard and it will give you a chance to check everything else (drive axle brgs, donuts, exhaust etc).

the exact same thing happened to me couple years ago on my 06, the bulk head was worn identical,i installed a new bearing and clip with the space between snap ring holes to the bad spot on bulk head, its bin fine since, the bearing fits so tight in there it almost doesn’t need the snap ring! just heads up if ur bearing has the lock collar when u install the bearing make sure proper side is facing out, the inner race is tapered to accept the lock collar
