I reinforced what I have said about not depending on how fast a sled FEELS.

I was with the 2 Machs I rode with last year. I was very surprised at the results of the races. First they made me race the 800 Renagade with us. I guess they thought it would beat me. I walked on him. Then I raced the stock Mach. At 100, I was 4 lengths ahead. Then I raced my semi pro drag racing buddy. He has always had very good running sleds. He has 192 1.40 studs, a clutch kit, and who knows what else, in the way of tuning. He kept jumping the flag, and I finally raced him even though he jumped me again. He got one length ahead, and my front was at his rear bumper, at more than 100.

Then he admitted the Apex was amazing, and took it for a ride. He was very impressed, and commented that he didn't like my RX, but loved this sled. If any of you have heard off Doc Fang, this guy is a close friend, which explains why his sleds rarely get beat. He has always had Yamis, and this is his 1st Doo.

What's the matter, you had to wait until you got back home to brag about your victory(s)???? :D You'll notice I held off spoiling your fun wondering when you were going to post this.

(Dan & I saw you guys go past the store this morning, so I knew you were back home)

Buddah,
I know your memory is going, but you should remember that My PC was down, and now I'm home.

It was nice riding with you.

Just curious.... but will you guys believe me when my stock motor'd 03 F7 beats up on my buddy's APEX in 1000'- 3000' even?

cause I can promiss you... it's going to happen. ( fingers crossed L! ) A local 05 MACH Z that ran 125.9mph could not catch my F7 in 3000' and that's no BullSh*t

Here's the sled http://2koolperformance.ca/forum/index. ... wtopic=809

Having said that... the APEX is a beautiful sled and appears to be working excellent! Kudos to Yamaha!

Where are you from? If your from Michigan I'll race you. No bone stock 03 F7 is going to beat an apex. A race version would in 500 feet but beond that the motor will nuke itslef.

He won't be around for long :die A stock 03 f7 beating a mach that was clocked at a buck twenty five :o| :o| Not much credability :!:

Nice looking cat though 8)

My memory is just fine..............at least in the VERY short run. You told me that you were having phone line & disconnect problems, nothing about PC being broken. LaLaLa

FXR, Take your race box off and fuel restrictor and what ever else you have and just leave it stock. Just Cluthing and gearing will not allow you to pull 125 mph. A stock, cluthed F7 will not beat an Apex. I've already tested that out with my gt. The F7 that I raced had a ODS clutch kit, 2 degree timing key and a fuel restrictor and I beat it twice in a row. That's with only 55 miles on my sled. If you want to start playing with internal motor parts, then that's fine, we can up the anti with a TURBO if you would like.

I had a stock 03 F7 except for studs, it was an extremely quick sled. I think an apex dialed in correctly, with the right stud set up and snow conditions could run with it and possibly beat it. Last year my Warrior was able to beat a saber cat cat 700 4 out of 4 times on a frozen river in quebec. I raced the same sled in a snow packed field and he crushed me both times we raced. Conditions have alot to do with whos sled is fastest.

Please guys.... I'm dead honest... My project sled build is clearly on our site. If you don't believe that 05 MACHZ story, go to DOOTALK and ask ADRENALATOR8 it's his Mach and he'll tell you how my sled runs.. it's taken 3 years of testing to get it this fast and it's stock fuel pressure, stock computer, head has never come off the sled... It's clutched, geared, has a Speedwerx intake and single pipe... runs Royal Purple synthetics... and ran a conservative 124mph last winter with stock 03 track and 170 1.375 Woody's Megabites... NO BULLSH*T. If you think that's 'sick'... it's going to get faster this season as we're putting a speed track on it with drag eliminator studs, and then it's taking a trip to D&D. THEN it will have the fuel mapping adjusted etc, because Dale Roes and crew at D&D can make them work! Trust me... I'm very flattered as some big time company's have took notice of this build..

Again.. no B.S, so please refrain from the negative comments.. We would love to have you up to the Lake in Ontario ( just across NY border ) to witness, even test ride this sled as it's my first custom sled build. Do other customs... it's part of my business

Rock on ... great site here I'll keep the 'taunting' to a minimal out of respect for the new APEX which rocks!

Cheers :rocks:

A very close Friend is very close with Glenn hall and company over at D&D. He has 3 sleds at Glenn's place right now. They are building nothing but big bore F7's and triple triple stuff. If a stock bore F7 was all they needed to dominate as you suggest I don't think they would be investing time and money to make them bigger.

I've raced a ton of F7's, the only fast ones on the lake have NOS, Or a Big bore kit on them. The one's setup like yours are quick but not the world beaters you make them out to be. The truth of the matter is I never lost to a F7 tuned the way you say yours was.

As I recall, the '03 F7 was pretty strong right out of the box, maybe even stronger than subsequent F7's.

It doesn't really matter because everything gets faster, better, stronger, bla-bla-bla than the other guy when you're "bench racing". Doesn't matter if it's in a bar or on an internet forum.

F7, I appreciate you keeping your taunting to a minimum and from what I've read it's all been in good fun. ;)!

For all, it's up to us to keep TY a fun and informative place. I know that I really don't care for bars with overly aggressive bouncers and I'd hate to see TY have overly agressive moderators.

Whoa!, I'm a moderator, OK, I promise to behave if everyone else does. ;)!

You don't know my sled .. you haven't raced it, so please refrain from insinuating I'm a LIAR... not appreciated. Yes the guys at D&D are just great and Dale Roes has offered us to come down to do a nice promo on their business. We have an on-sight thread to guess our projects sleds STOCK MOTOR hp to win prizes.. because as you... so many people who weren't at the lake or standing beside the STALKER radar gun are 'curious' There is "NO" doubt in my mind that our sled set up the way it is today, even before D&D play with fuel mapping, would beat a stock APEX or MACH Z It's not ALL WORLD by any means as you've sarcastically mentioned, it's just a strong sled that's yet to be beat by anything stock 1000cc's or less. At least in our region

Man an 03 firecracker... Your standard issue superman cape has got to be getting a little ratty now eh?
