Thanks...Just a few of Cooke City. Part of an old gold mine that we found and the top of Daisy Pass.

Where exactly is that located. I have ridden in Cooke since '80 (since it's only 2 hrs to the Pilot Creek Parking lot) and I have never seen it. Only one I have seen that resembles it is this.

The mine is across the valley to the left (North I believe) from the trail leading up to Daisy. From your picture I think it is directly below that structure about 1,500 feet with a 1 inch cable running between them. The horizontal mine shaft was still open last time I was there. The electrical stuff and rail system is still in place too.

;)!

Chance, as you head up the trail left is south (towards town). The shaft I took a picture of is actually visible if you look back over your left shoulder and up when you arive at the old cabins going up Lulu or; if you look forward and up slightly to the right parked as our sleds are in this picture. That mine shaft you guys found must be back in Miller Creek somewhere. There's also a burned area near the Miller Creek trail (I'm guessing thats the ones in you other topic) I'm also going to guess the Mtn Max is stuck nose first in Miller Creek. I'm guessing I'll have to search the area South/SE of Crown Butte (the big Peak at the top of Daisy Pass) for it next year to find it if you were in the area I am thinking of.
