Hey guys i am going through my nytro checking on odds and ends with the track off the ground and warmed up the track does not spin on idle not even if I try to force. From what I read on ulmers website it needs to be adjusted so the track is barely spinning on idle how do I adjust this?

Belt deflection is at the secondary sheave. It needs to be pulled off and spacers added to bolts on back of secondary you order from yamaha . I just learned this myself from someone here on TY but I am within specs so im leaving it alone. Ski doo has yamaha beat hands down

on this you can adjust belt deflection on trail its so easy, I dont know why yamaha makes it so difficult.

Thankyou! Yes I liked the tool ski doo had for belt deflection and removing the belt but that is about the only thing I miss about my ski doo lol

Also so if I need to tighten the belt up I need to add spacers then correct?

I was on ulmer page he claims that proper belt deflection thr track shoukd be just barely spinning mine does not. Move even with a gentle helping hand the belt is dead even with the top of the secondary and ideas where to start?

there are 3 bolts on the back of your secondary. Take your belt off, then take your secondary clutch off. Take out the 3 bolts, add a washer to the bolts, reinstall everything and check again. if its still not spinning the track at idle add another bolt.

You are supposed to check this periodically as well. Yamaha belts last a long time, but they do wear. As the belt wears you can add more washers so you always have the correct deflection.

how many should i have i added a 1mm washer to all 3 bolts and thats what brought it up even. So now i have two 1mm washers on all the bolts should i add the 0.5 mm washers to them too and try that? so should i try to get the belt just above the secondary?

Don't worry about how high it sits on the secondary, just add enough so you can get the track slowly spinning at idle with the back end raised. If that's not possible, your belt is too worn you'll need a new one.

I just put a brand new one on tonight all I have are 3 more 0.5 mm spacers hopefully that's enough lol

Hows your track tension? Is it super tight? shouldn't need that many washers with a new belt

For the track there is no magic measurement really. You want it to be as loose as possible without racheting. With the back off the ground it should sag in the middle a bit. you should be able to put a finger or 2 underneath the rail.
