My belt is riding a little low in the secondary, it's flush or slightly below. My question is how do I adjust this? Never needed to mess with it on the nytro and on my Polaris it was a simple set screw. I used to like to see it about ⅛" above the secondary or tight enough so the track would start to barely twitch on the stand. Guessing there are shims to be removed? Kind of a poor picture I should have been farther over....

Pull the secondary right off. On the back side there are 3 bolts. I believe they are an 8mm head. Pull the bolts out and Just add some shims to make it close the secondary more and that will raise your belt. May need to get shims/washers from a hardware store. A thin washer will make a decent amount of change.

Just washers or does Yamaha sell a shim kit? Don't need to pull the clutch apart?

Yes you can get them from a dealer they come in .5mm & 1mm and you don't have to pull clutch apart they are on the back side

I added .5 mm to mine and now it sits about 1/8" above the secondary. Note the ones that are there stay there + the .5mm

Added 1mm to mine and it seems about right, could maybe add the ½mm as well but I've already had it apart twice, don't want to do it a 3rd and 4th if it's too tight. It's sitting about ⅛or maybe a little more above now. Ran it on the stand and turned to track by hand with the engine running and I have no squeal or drag at all, should be good.
