On my other makes I knew where the belt should be riding.... I dont have my manuel handy as its packed away.

However I have almost 1900 miles on the stock belt and was looking things over last evening and the top of the belt is below the sheaves slightly. I would say a 1/16 of an inch give or take. I can run my fingers over it and feel it noticably.

I did measure the belt and its 34mm wide at the top which is still within specs but I never adjusted the secondary yet.

Do I need to bring the belt up some? So its above the sheaves like on my Poos? and with that said I hear there are some washers to add to do this....where would I be adding them?

My experience with my sled is that when NEW belt is installed, you need to remove a shim or washer,so it doesnt squeel....then after about 200 miles i replace the shims to bring belt back up to LEVEL with 2ndary(top of belt) and it seems to be fine from there on in.

a good rule of thumb with these yammies is to make the belt as tight as you can WITHOUT squeel....

another trick i like to use is with sled OFF...you should be just barely able to spin the BELT backwards...pushing it with your left hand around the 2ndary freely...it should be tough to do but just barely slip around 2ndary....this is typically a good reference for deflection.

most apexs ive seen are right LEVEL though ontop...not like DOOS which show the CORD being level.....

I put on 2000 miles before i changed my belt it was s still in good condition but was sitting approx 1/16 below the top on the secondary my new belt sits approx 1/16th above the secondary does not squeel at all
This was the same on my old rx1 as well Everyone gets different life out of there belts generally its the driver that dictates the life

I just changed my belt at 3700 miles. I noticed a string coming out the side of the belt and figured it was time to change it! When I went to change it the belt was like 3/4" down in the secondary. Maybe its because it was wore out?

Just trim the string off and go for another 3,000 miles. And to improve the performance you can gear down. So instead of taking off in 4th gear it will feel like launching in 2nd gear :jump:

I have noticed with mine that if i back into the garage the belt is sitting low in the secondary. 1/8-1/4" I thought I had a problem but as soon as you pull forward a bit it goes right to the top. I just thought I would throw that out there because if you backed your garage to check things over your belt might be lower in the secondary than it really is. Hope that makes sense.
