Are you guys using OE belt or is there a better one out there? I hear our belts are cheap in comparison to others money wise.....

There around $95 and I'm on my 3rd season with it. They are not a hard rock like the Yamaha belt.Zakre said:nytro addict said:Ultimax belts rock

ultimax
stocks better than ultimax. ultimax 3 is too soft and will leave rubber deposits on ur sheaves which affect shifting...and cause the clutch to spit out parts...
screwed my srx up real bad.

I have blown 4 oem belts in 2800 miles.
The belts are delaminating, not breaking.
Thinking about trying a Gates belt, does anybody have any experience with Gates belts?

Check your secondary spring. i hear some people had some problems with this (one being myself) and the secondary spring had lost some tension to it. I put new one in and have no a problem yet...

I just blew my orginal belt this weekend. I got 1600 miles out of it. The belt didn't actually break it delaminated itself. I was doing about 95mph on a trail when it happened. Scared the crap out of me the noise that it made. My orginal thought was oh great a chunk of ice just went through the from of the track.
Luckly I had a spare with me which was a used belt that I picked up off ebay. I need to order a new one now. I think I'll stick with oem and support my local dealer.
