Hey all
I have an 07' Attak and want to run the quieter version of bender's exhaust and have made an airbox mod that acts like ram air, by cutting out the little ridges on top of the airbox and covering them with a pre-filter type material.
My question is do I need to use a boondocker powercommander or hauck fuel accelerator to keep my sled operating reliably and to keep the stumble from happening?
Also, with this change in power, should I bother clutching the sled, and if so, with which clutch kit would be best. I was thinking of fixpowersports kit, as it had very good reviews and maybe they could custom make one for the combination of pipe and intake for the attak. Id have to talk with the, but thought id ask here first.
Any help or advice?!
Thanks in adavnce!

Get the Ulmer kit. They will tell you exactly what to change if they don't get it spot on when sent to you. They know there stuff, and are the best when it comes to customer service. Maxdlx

Ulmer has the PowerCommander set-up for their airbox mod. I don't think they will know how to set it up to Yamahammer485's airbox especially because its home made. Allen set up the PowerCommander for their mod on a dyno. If you’re looking to get it accurate you might want to get an o2 sensor.

All the above is correct for Allens setups I have a similar situation only with the excell pipe. But just to give credit where it is due, I spoke with Tim at Fix last week and he said they also have a Power commander setup with their ramair lid.

The clutching will probably do more for your sled that the mods. The mods will get you 5-10 hp tops???? You probably won't be noticibly faster than a stock Apex/Attak. The stumble does seem to be caused by a lean condition at low rpms. The fuel controllers will help with that.
