Bender Stage 2 turbo...what should I know before purchasing?

There are a few (so I am told, I have only had mine for a couple months), You have to watch the oiling system for the turbo, the early versions had there own tank at the back and came with a red warning light. The later versions oiled off the engine ol with a seperate pump but some of these had too small of a return line and gave trouble because of it. Also there is an issue with the carb slides not fully opening because they only have one feed line from the intercooler (this causes a lean spot) other systems use two lines (easy fix though) You should check so of spray25's posts, he has some good one's!! Hope this helps a little!!

They guy I have been talking to that has one. Details that I have so far is it will be coming with a oversized oil pump and fuel pump.

Beings that I have no idea on this yet, that sounds good? The guy is going to a Stage 3 for racing. Had this kit and raced and said he had 600 miles of trial and 400 miles of racing..estimated on the kit.

well price is right, and the sled will be going to my wife next year. She dont want it until its faster. :drink:

What should you know........ There's to much to put in one post.

The slide issue was discussed above.

The oil issue is not fully resolved yet, but I think the cure has been found. Just need snow to test.

Make sure you have the later kit with the oil coming off the engine NOT the seperate oil tank. Also make sure you have a jet in the oil supply line to the turbo to restrict the oil or YOU WILL HAVE BIG PROBLEMS. Last I knew Bender was recomending a 90 sized jet, but I have a hunch you will want to change that to a smaller jet soon. ;-)

I highly recomend that you buy aluminum carb tees as most people that glue the OEM tees seem to develop leaks. If they leak it absolutely positively will not run right.

Get good boost and A/F gauges.

If you are a mountain rider install snow shields around the air filter. Some where on here there should be posts about it. If not PM me.

That should get you started.

looks like i'll be doing a stage 2 on my attak, do i have to change gearing or will it be o.k. with just clutching. I also talked to Jack at big moose yamaha who will be doing the install & he said the oil is directly off the motor not an oil tank.. any help would be great.

I prefer the stock gearing on my mtn sled. You will DEFINATELY need to work on clutching.

Make sure there is a jet in the supply line. As indicated above you may end up going even smaller, but at least make sre there is a 90 in there for now.
