IMO if it dont leak then leave it alone. Put on a real skid and never look back.

It's too bent to properly integrate with a skid plate. Try straightening it with the wood as mentioned above and if that is not successful, replace it.
After reading this thread yesterday I ordered a skid plate from you. I have hit some chit but have been lucky so far. Figured I better get one of your skid plates before my luck runs out.

Thanks, it'll ship tomorrow. You'll have to give us your feedback once you get it.

X2 on the ouch and I can't believe it missed the oil filter!

I think you better get the sled out of storage at some point this summer, me thinks you are going to be busy replacing a cooler....'cause that doesn't look fixable to me.

Maybe others can chime in.

OTM

I agree. Then get one of my skid plates and you'll be good to go. The rear edges of my skid plates go .100" past the bottom edge of the cooler to protect it, and prevent exactly what happened to yours.
I have the skid plate, and has saved me multiple times, but that looks like it was dropped out of the back of a cargo plane onto the top of the statue of liberty torch

You should see the dent in the front of the subframe. The guy I bought if from must've been trying to jump rocks.

The damage is bad but I think the picture makes it look worse that it actually is. But a skid plate is definatly needed

Thanks! Lookin 4ward to mountin it up. I did the "cut the alum rib mod" on the factory plastic protector but all u are doing is weakining an already weak protector. Yammie really struck out when they designed that skidder.

The skid plate I ordered from Roest arrived yesterday (sat) That was fast. Tnx. I wont be able to install it til this fall due to the sled being in storage away from here but upon inspection of the skid plate it appears to be an excellent design. The powder coat finish is really nice. It may be lite as a feather but its very ridged. Tnx Roest. Now I will be able to ride with a bunch more peace of mind.

Thanks Crankshaft. With that skid plate under there your engine, oil filter. subframe tubes, and front heat exchanger haver killer protection. The skid plate also helps tie the subframe together to make it more rigid.

Well finally got the skid plate installed yesterday and what a nice product it is. Easy install and its tough. Yammi screwed up with that little plastic POS they call a skid plate. Anyone who ventures off trail is on borrowed time unless you have a roest plate.
