I turned my Attak over this weekend and bent the handlebars on the brake side.I have them off and tried to bend them back in a vise but no luck.Do anyone have any suggestion of what I can do to get them back in shape or do I need to buy new ones ?
Thanks
Thanks

put them back on the sled and stand under them and lift them back up where they belong.....ask me how i know this works!
it's been rumored that you shouldn't reuse them but mine seem strong enough, any sign of weakening and i will change them though.

Someone on this site (Pokeyjoe) just posted that his handlebar mounting bracket snapping in half and he hit a tree. I wouldn't chance bending it back and weakening it. It might be good forever and it may cause a problem down the road and I wouldn't want to take a chance with the out come of a trip on a sled without steering. Below is from Pokeyjoe's post.
"I have (had) a 07 Apex RTX with 2600 miles on it. A couple months ago, while entering an easy right turn on a groomed trail, I noticed the handlebars were being pulled to the right but the skies stayed straight. I knew that wasn't good and as soon as I let off the gas, there was a "pop" in the handlebars and they went floppy. My hand hit the kill switch and since I didn't have anything to hold on to, I was launched off the sled and unfortunately into a tree. Luckily, I'll heal but my season is done. As for the sled... that's up in the air. The problem was the upper steering stem. Apparently, there is a cheesy bushing that the upper stem bracket is welded onto. The risers bolt onto that and, at least on my sled, there is only a quarter inch of the stem pipe that was actually solid to take the weight and force of steering the sled."

dirt bikes ,atv's ,snowmobiles bent them all . ya bend them back and they only bend easier next time. imo replace them. they will collapse when you dont want them too.

Thanks.I'm going to call the dealer to see if he has any left over from 2006 when they had problems with the handwarmers.

Went to the dealer today and told him my problem,he had a set left over and gave them to me.Pretty good deal because to replace would have cost around $275.Some times it's no hurt to ask.
