Anyone ever bend a skid frame?
My '09 has been giving me issues from the day I purchased new, horrible handling being the main complaint. Brought the unit back to dealer 3 times, pointing out how the skid frame alignment is good on the rear but on the front it veered to the left, up against the track internal lugs. First two times was told this was normal for a Yamaha. I haven't ridden Yamaha much, always Doo, but this didn't seem right. Last week brought unit back and had another tech look at it. Turned out wasn't normal. They removed skid and found the rails twisted and the front pivot arm bent and inch. I can never recall hitting anything hard to cause such damage... then the tech noticed a 'spacer' (item #10 on the parts fiche for the suspension) was missing from under the right side front damper, probably from assembly. Thinking is this would allow the front pivot arm to 'twist' once the left side rested on the left damper but nothing on the right... until it hit the skid.
Seems like this will be under warranty but wanted to share with folks to check for this 'spacer' so something similar doesn't happen to them.
Tried to copy and paste the parts diagram but no luck.[/img]

Got the unit back today. Both rails, front pivot arm, some bushings and the 'missing' spacer were replaced. Covered under warranty. Now need to get some snow to see if it handles any better.

Did the slide rail chew up any of the drive clogs? How veered to the left was the skid? Were your slides binding with the drive clogs with great force? Reason I ask is my front pivot arm is bent 1/8 of an inch resulting in my skid not being centered within the track. It rides about 1/8 of an inch to the left of center in the front of the skid only. The back of the skid runs true. The slides are not touching the clogs but are close.
