I am trying to decide on what aftermarket ski to purchase for an 05 vector that will increase floatation in powder but will still be good for aggressive trail riding as well. Wondering what people on here have had good results with. USI, Simmons, C&A, Slydog?????

ski's
I just installed c&a outlaw's they are awesome and Like them better than the new yamaha mtn ski. They corner awesome on the trails too. They have a lot of flotation too.So when you try jump a drift you actually jump it the front end dosen't slice throught it,lol

I'll check those out! I'm especially looking for skis that don't dive in the powder like the stock ones. How wide are those c&A's???
7 1/4" wide

Thanks Pro! I was looking for something 7" or more.
ski's
I ran the new yami mtn ski's on my vector last year there way better than the stock pizza cutters but the ski's I listed now corner alot better.

Anything has to be better in powder than the stock skis. I realize the vector is a groomed trail sled but with the weight in the front end I am surprised they come with such narrow skis stock. Makes me wonder if they test these sleds off trail at all. Good thing is they have so much bottom end torque you can gas it and plane the sled like a jet ski it just won't turn without diving in the deep stuff.

I am putting on PPD-XMT skis on my vector. 4lbs lighter than simmons. 7inch wide, tri keel (reduced darting)
Mine are black on black

RTXDUDE has Doo Precisions on his Apex and loves them. I rode his Apex for a few miles and really liked them too. Any of you guys posting here run them, or know of anyone who has?
95% of my riding is on the trails, and my goal is a ski that will help me turn a little better.

I have SLP Powder Pros and love them for a Crossover sled, I currently ride a 05 RS Rage. I play off trail any chance I get, and like to ride to the areas to play. Just my .02 of what I have.
i have the slydog powder hounds on my attak, love them on the trails, the snow hasnt gotten deep enough to try off trail too much, but so far, these are great..... darting on trail is gone.... not too heavy steering effort, and turns on rails..... very happy with them.

I've got the SLP Powder Pros on my long-tracked Nytro. They are AWESOME! Great in the powder, and they are a really aggresive trail ski. They are 7" wide.
the powder pro's are almost identical to the yami mtn ski's.I personally think yami bought the right from slp

I've heard the yammie mtn's work well also but I assumed after buying the ski's, mounts, and hoops I would probably spend more for the yammie mtn's than aftermarkets
yes the yami skis have a tapered keel to so it tends to push in powder on the trails I like a square edge like the c&a's or a dove tail like the slydogs
