I'm glad I decided to go with the Attak. Amsnow buyers guide just arrived. I know how they rode from my test rides. I've ridden enough sleds to know that it was an awesome ride and the yamahas have changed drastically this year but it's GREAT to hear that backed up by the press. Other notable quotes.

"Although the heaviest of the four crossovers, the Attak rides nearly as light as the Crossfire" (which is the lightest of the crossover sleds)

"I also discovered that ergonomically the Yamaha was better suited for rough trails than Renegade"

"Suprisingly, Attak felt lighter in the front than Renegade when banging over the rough Utah test trails. I wasn't expecting that."

"I've never driven any snowmobile that responds as fluidly as the Apex/Attack line. The fuel injected soul of the new 20-valve 4-stroke is smooth and crisp as a winter morning."

**Listed difference in weight between the two is 31 lb's. Renegade equally loaded costs over 1k more. I was pleased to hear all this basically backing up my impressions when I demo'd the new Yammies. I considered the rev the then "standard" as it were for being the big bump champ. I'm glad that they now have competition.

 I think thats just the tip of the iceburg. You wait until more people get seat time. Your going to see so many more responses like the one above. And with gas prices where they are!

Just out of curiousity, what kind of mileage to people expect to get with the new motors for 06?

Although Fuel Injection is potentally more efficient than carbs, Yamaha is officiallysaying the same as RX-1. The extra effiency will go to better performance. If you ride easy and arent into the throttle constanly, I would think 10% better.

I have had fuel injection on Polaris and they were no better if not worse than carb. But I don't think this will be the case here. I think it should be at least as good if not better than the carbed RX-1.

I will tell you what doesnt make sense in that magazine...

In the cross over shoot out they rate the yami #1, but 10 pages later they give the crossover of the year to someone else..

Did anyone else notice this..? The apex Gt got best 4 stroke of the year!

If you are talking about the 650 carb vs the RXL, I heard a few guys liked the carbed model better.

Impala but the guys that put the fuel pressure regulaters on the rxl where happier than the carb owners.

Didn't know about the regulators, and they must have not either, they had gotten off RXL's and went to the carbed models. Those were popular sleds though.

Actually I was speaking of the 1994Classic touring two up. It was the fuel injected 500.

I heard the doo's are drinking a lot of oil too. Hyfax wear has been a major issue in years past but maybe it will be better with the sc-4
