Am I better off going with a Yamaha V-Belt for $65 or the Carlisle Ultimax for $94? In other words is it worth spending the extra? I am a trail rider with zero expectations of excessive Boondocking. HA

I've always ran Yamaha 8DN belt on my 07 Attak. Never had issues. IMO its not worth the extra money.

your sled will not boondock well anyways... 8DN all the way you can get them as cheap as 50 a piece from a show.

8dn is really hard to beat

That's exactly what i said, but i used 17 exclamation marks to put my stamp on it. I actually tried the Ultimax once. Still have it with maybe 500 miles on it if you want to try it. I think the Ultimax was suppose to grip better, but not last as long. I can't remember the advantages & disadvantages of using it, but at $60 & 4000 miles before loosing any top mph, the 8DN reigns supreme...

What they said.

Yamaha OEM 8DN is what you want to run on your '06 Attak.

I'd be surprised if you get anyone who suggests a different belt.

Cheap, durable, and readily available.

I really appreciate the unity on this this one. I am just getting back into sledding and will have many more stupid questions to come. I really love this forum! Thx again!

we like stupid ?s as it gives us a 50/50 chance. Yamadoo

The only stupid question you can ask is "does this yellow shirt make me look fat?"
