I'm gonna be running on the ice with little snow. What are you guys running. Right now I am replacing all my track clips and Hyfax because they burnt up.

And easy to forget when backing up so they get broken. The latest trend seems to be the cable type like the TRIC ones that Yamaha sells. I bought a set of SlideKicks to mount on my rails but they have to be mounted 2-3" above the track and I couldn't find a place to put them on the VL (all ot the high spots are used by wheels). Gonna check out the Yam ones but they only come in blue!studdog said:runnig board mounted ice scratchers. Easy to deploy and out of the way

Im using the rail mounted ones. Works very well. Broke one last week when it caught a rock or something. I've been using the same set for about 5000 km's. Luck is I had a spare set of scratchers in the garage
I got mine from a member on this forum/ and snowest forum.

Rail mounted ice scratchers (like www.scorchersicescratchers.com) are superior compared to wire type ice scratchers mounted in the front end.

Mount your Slide Kicks to the ski's. I've yet to break a set and the tips change easily when worn down. Loosen the bolt and let the cable relax when not using the sled.

The inside the ski mounting looks good!

Thanks for the tip. I may try mounting them on the spindles if it is not too high as there are no metal brackets (saddle) on the Slydog skis.northernsledder.jk said:.......

Surprised nobody mentioned the Hartman's?
I read post after post about the flex ones loosening, (some actually lost them) plus the damage some have caused, I opted for the ski mounted Hartman's and they work great

I welded a small tab to each of my scratcher's and use a second bolt to keep it from rotating or coming off.

I made the mounting brackets that hold my scratcher's to the skis.
