I went with the K&N (KN-147). Not sure if it is the best but it is more $!

These are for Vector's and Apex's and are all good choices but the best filter, according to most on here who reply, is the Pure One filter.

Sorry dont mean to steal this post but do you let your sled run a little bit before you change your oil?

I have to read the owners manual but I'm pretty sure we do have to have the sled warmed up before we change the oil

In my opinion I'd stick with the OEM Yamaha filter 5dm-13440. It's only 2" long and is better protected from the skid plate. Unless there is an aftermarket filter that is that short I'd stick with the OEM. Every aftermarket filter I have seen is at least 3/4" longer. Just bought a Napa 1358 and it sticks past the engine case. The OEM is tucked in further. Wondering if there is an aftermarket one that is just as short. Read the post on oil filter rub.

I use K & N. It has a nut at the bottom makes it easier to take off.

I posted on a thread here last spring about oil filters. We discovered that aftermarket oil filters are longer than stock (like an HF 303) and when the stock skid plate gets bowed in a little bit, the aluminum rib will rub on the filter and could cause a leak. I saw it on my own sled. I posted pictures so if you do a search it should come up.

K&N 147 here. Agree on the Pureone though- great filter, just easier for me to get the K&N.

What about the fram. I run it on my Grizzly with no problem.
