Considering suspension upgrades etc... What are some recommendations on either valving changes or replacement suspension for Short Nytro?

Revalving all your shocks will greatly improve your ride and handling.

If I bought another Nytro I'd swap a doo suspension into the rear, the sc5 or what ever model skid was in the 2011s. And might as well find one out of a xrs and get the pro40 shocks

What does revalving specifically do for improving the ride or shock performance?

Stock shock valving is very flat rate on the nytro, so it rides stiff in the small stutter bumps but it also blows through its travel if you hit a big hole or large bump. If you have a pro put some good progressive valving in the shocks, it'll ride much smoother in the stutter bumps/small bumps and yet it will also resist bottoming, so you can still take the big hits. Will probably also help with the suspension 'sit in' so the sled might sit a little lower, improving the handling and cornering. I also notice decreased steering effort.

Its easily the cheapest route to go for improving the nytro's ride and handling. Best 'bang for the buck'.

Give Bruce a call at Pioneer Performance. He revalved my 4 shocks for around $250.00 with good results.

Thanks for the contact at Pioneer.

It rebuilding/revalving by someone like HyGear or Pioneer better than buying new shocks? Maybe it's cheaper to rebuild/revalve vs. buying a new system.

Are you guys that rebuild/revalve satisfied with the improvement in suspension and handelilng you got from the work?

Now on handling do you mean cornering or going over bumps ?

Revalving does help with handling over big and small bumps

Primarily bumps and overall ride. Cornering improvements probably has more to do with specifc adjustments.

It's much cheaper to revalve. At that point you will have shocks built for your riding style and weight also, if u buy new shocks they still won't be set for you and your riding style.

Bruce schrader at pioneer is awesome guy with great support. Very honest and knowledgeable.

So is Schmidt bros .....great guys to work with and there right here in west branch Michigan

The shocks in the nytro are good enough after a revalve. If you really want to get crazy and get as good of ride as possible then you will probably want to go out and spend a couple grand or more on new high quality extremely adjustable shocks. But at that point it would be cheaper and you'd get better results by selling the nytro and buying a different sled that handles better lol

I've heard good things about Pioneer and schmidt bros, and hygear....but hygear is kinda pricey.

I use Bruce at B-line Control, located in Lindstrom MN, 651-257-0828

If you are thinking of going with the star suspension, get your rear shocks done by them at the same time as they do some special shock mods that compliment the suspension mods (most import of which appears to be addition of a spacer).
