How many studs would you recommend for the Nytro... 96, 120, or 144?
What type of stud and backers work best? Please explain your experiences.

I went with 120 down the middle and tall nuts it vibrates over 70mph. It was fine with 96.

I've been running 96 studs and they've been great. I usually go with studboy, but actually went with shadetree studs that I got at the show this year. Suprisingly they've held up better than my Studboy's from past years.

Sorry, couldn't resist.
144, up the middle, and heres a pic or two.
When doing this sort of pattern, just vary the stud possition side to side by an inch or two. Works great for me. Also i'm using round backers, and I feel the square ones rip out easier, the force applied goes to edges, not so with the round backers. My opinion only. Hope this helps! Next track I do, I'm doing with Rotin Hornets, I hear they are wicked!!

I'm running 96 Double backers down the center and I love them! Theres traction to get you moving and to stop you but its still loose enough to whip it when you want.

I like Stud Boy with the tall nuts. The studs will bend over or break with standard height nuts and its not recommended you go without the tall nuts.

Tall nuts tall nuts tall nuts, studs are more of a loyalty thing. I got the cheapys from Rich, and tall nuts coming for my new track. my 136 ha the generics off of eby in it with TALL NUTS w 1000 miles they look new yet. The tall nuts will make it feel weird at road crossings and hard ice, because the studs stay up right, and it rides on them not the lugs. Maxdlx
