Best to ask the 4-stroke crowd, 2-smokers are in denial

If you have a 2-stroker with you, ask 'em to stay in the back of the pack. Otherwise tell 'em you'll race 'em to your destination and hang back a bit. :tg:

But, ... Worst part about riding with a 2-stroker is when they hang their suit in the hotel room after a long ride. If you are stuck in that same room, it really sucks!

There all nice sleds when there working good, two or four stroke. The main thing is having fun.

I had a viper.. they burn little to no oil..

only time you notice the smell is in the garage..

That's why I'm not quitting cold Turkey. A well functioning sled is great, 2 or 4 stroke as long as it's a Yamaha :yam:

You seem to change sleds like I change my underware.

First an Attak........then an RTX..........Maybe you crave a different sport???

2 Smokes??? You can try it.........but they tend to go...........POP!

I used Ipone, every body made fun of me for strawberry smelling oil but it made it tolerable. Glad I do not have to deal with that anymore.

Just curious since this is my first 4-stroke(and have not ridden it yet)...but all my buddies and wife still have 2-strokes...will my clothes still smell like 2-stroke smoke after a ride? Obviously, if I am up front the answer is no but if I am in the pack...wont my clothes still smell--or will it be not as bad as if I was still on a 2-stroke?

I run klotz in my SRX. Smells nice for a few seconds, but very sickening if prolong inhaled. I actually like the smell of most 2-stroke oil, but only for a few seconds before I get a sickening feeling. We have a few SDI’s in our group and it’s sickening to follow in the slow tight twisty trails regardless of oil. I think BRP should install more censors, filters and ashtrays because regardless of emission claims, they still stink!
After a few years on mostly 4-strokes, I realize there are so many things I now take for granted.

You missed the RX-1 and Warrior. I sure hope you change your underwear more than I change sleds :moon:
I average a new sled every year, you don't know anyone else that gets a new sled every year? This year I was going to have an 07 RTX but didn't like what I saw then I found a leftover 06 in the spring.

I had a Rev 600 laying around last year that used to smoke like a 60 series Detroit , I tryed Blue Marble and it was almost smokeless and odor free , on a 600ho sdi

Add me to the Blue Marble fan club!

Yamaha Lube in my enclosed trailer would about kill me so about four years ago I switched all my two strokes to Blue Marble and have loved every minute of it.

I run Klotz in the Poo. It does O'K' with the valves and it makes people hungry that follow it from the smell. Its like a cross between floral bathroom deoderant, a fryolator, and rat poison! I won't miss the smell riding the Yammis this year.

I have ran them all, BM klotz amsoil and ipone. Klotz smokes the least at start up, Ipone smells the best, and for the money amsoil is the winner. Set you oil cable gap to 24mm mine is at 25mm, and it really helps. I didn't like th eBM it still smokes like yamalube at start up, and really stinks to me. Maxdlx

One more thing if you go on ebay or google alcohol upper cylinder lube, they sell all different kinds of smells. Add it right to the oil reivior, and it does help some. I like pia colada in out modified, so I might try it in the sled. Maxdlx

You will likely find yourself very annoyed at the two stroke smell and eye burn. You will wonder why, since you rode them for years, but now it will bother you. It's weird, but very true.
