I want to buy aftermarket skis for my 07 fx. I am also considering extending my skid to 136". What are the best skis for aggressive trail riding? I am trying to eliminate darting and hard steering. I am thinking C&A Trail skis? Thanks for any input!

Lots of Phazer owners switch to C&A skis and love them. Another cheaper alternative is is the Ski-Doo Pilot ski. Great performance and can be found used for cheap.

i had c&a's on my 07 fx and they turned and floated well, but the steering pressure was heavy - i have simmons on my 09 rtx and they turn just as well (w/ 4" and 6" carbides) and the steering pressure is not nearly what the c&a's were - if you are an aggressive rider i would go with c&a.

I liked the Curve Skis that I ran last year. I do also have a set of CA's in the trailer the curves worked well in all conditions

I know Arteeex has Simmons on his Phazer RTX and won't switch them off for anything.

Can you explain "shaper" bars to us? I see that used often, and I am assuming it is a thinner wearbar/carbide?
Thanks!

Gotta try somebody elses to know what your getting with these sleds, C&A's had better ski pressure for me so thats what I bought. and they worked well in the pow.

I also run the powder hounds. they work way better then stock. that is untill you get fresh show on the trails. they will actualy float too much and you will start to push. on a groomed trail they work great with a 6" carbide.

Your just sayin' that 'cause Nick sponsored ya'
I run them as well (he's my cousin)
I went with a 6" shaper bar but might switch to a 4 as they were a bit too aggressive for me in certain conditions. They are pricey like other aftermarkets but a good overall ski like Seth says.
