Been reading all the clutch posts for 2 days and no luck trying to find one combo that could be called "best improved" for general use using parts from the Yami fische. Can anyone suggest the best "upgrade" for:
1) reducing slow speed belt slip
2) improving backshifting
3) mixed trail and boondock riding

Riding a stock clutch 2010 XTX with studs and Yami mtx ski @ 2000ft in rolling hills terrain. Not lake racing.

This will sound like a broken record but.......Ulmer CLutching!!!!! Don't waste your time with the stock stuff, if you really know your clutching then you could gets some adjustable arms and play with wieght and spring combos for days ........or enjoy the season and call Allen Ulmer and tell him what your needs are and it will be setup for you out of the box.....and if it still needs a little tuning then he will help you dial it in....

I ride pretty much what you are telling. Drag n Fly's worked pretty awesome for me. I sometimes would take the miss' and my three year old for a put put ride and no slip. Took a little tweeking to my liking but once dialed in, when you want to rip or go slow, works awesome.
The only beef I have with the kit is the primary spring is a pain in the A#$ if you dont have the right equipment to install. ;):D
A simple jig I made up for myself solved that problem.

Save yourself any headaches and go with Allen Ulmer's kit. It's a solid performing kit and uses quallity weights vs other aftermarket competitors.

I've read a bunch of Turk's posts and all the Ulmer good reviews. But also reviews that the XTX is pretty good from the factory and only needs a few tweeks (maybe just rollers?), but do definitive setp + reviews other than Turk. No one wants to spend all season fighting cluthing issues and spending $ on tons of widgets, so I guess I'll go Ulmer...

I put the Ulmer stage 1 on my XTX and it pulled so much harder throughout the RPM's. Clutch engagment was much easier to!

It so easy, just call Allen, tell him how you ride, your weight, anything you've done to you sled and he will have the clutching set up almost perfect for you.

X2....Plus Allen has great service!

Turk is your setup good for low elevation? How many deqrees do you run on the secondary spring? What effect do the 14..5 rollers have? What is the peak rpm are we supposed to shoot for with xtx. I am stock (for now) except for muffler and plugs, cobra track. Thanks for the help AGAIN!

The 14.5mm rollers lower engagement & grab the belt harder at acceleration & low speed. You get rid of that low speed belt slip.

You may like the lower engagement & not want or need engagement shims.
Run a stock Yamaha 47 helix...you can buy for around $25.
