I weigh 280 with all my gear on, and run the standard spring tightened up almost all the way on my 06 apex er, would i notice a big difference in ride quality if i used the big boy spring?

yes. you may even want to consider the 7.1 spring. but it will make a difference. do you have your shock revalved? if not while your getting your new spring get your shock revalved :4STroke:

I weigh 200lbs and use the 5.5 springs.. I would go at least 6.0 for your weight..

You must get the rear shock revalved if you want it to perform correctly..

i do not have my stock er spring re-valved, i was given a blown out onlins with a broken wire, can i make that work on my er or should i just get the stock shock rebuilt? also can my local shock rebuilder (goodwin performance) do the shock rebuild or is a specialty shop like pioneer better?

In stock form, you're right on the edge per the table below. Replacing spring would give you more adjustments.

Goodwin did the the revalve on my Attak's shock.
Not only did they do an excelent job they had it done in a day.

OH, I push280 w/ gear. I run the higher rate spring on the 3rd c-clip. I can pound mougles all day and cruise smooth groomed trails. I love my Mono now

How do they come set from Yami on 07 Attaks? I'm about the same weight. I sent mine out to Pioneer for 7.1 and revalve last spring while I was putting it away for the season so I haven't rode the new setup. I still have to set the sled to my weight. Pioneer gave an instruction paper to do so.
