I'm heading to the horns Mar. 7-9. What, if anything, do I need to have done to the Vector mnt. before I go? It's new with only .3 miles on it so this will be its maiden voyage... Thanks.

Not sure on elevation etc, only thing I have ran into so far on a stocker is you might want to tighten your secondary if it is lots of climbing at over 6000' Just what a buddy told me with a stocker.

Check out the jetting specs for a Vector mountain at 8-10 K elevation & use that. You are gonna have to lighten up the primary weights at least 6-8 grams & tighten the secondary at least 10 degrees.

Check your antifreeze and make sure the mixture is right, I don't know if it is still a problem but some sleds came with pure antifreeze instead of a 50/50 mixture and did not cool properly. I would go on Yamaha's web site and find the closest dealer to where you are going to ride and ask for advice. If the dealer knows his stuff you should show up with the perfect set up. If he is helpful stop by on your way to ride, Drop off a 12 pack and say thanks. It never hurts to get to know a dealer close to where you want to ride, before you need help.

My first trip out on mine was up to the Beartooths and that was 11,000 ft. Didn't touch a thing from the out of the box setup and it ran great and tached perfect.

I think i'm going to supercharge it, but that won't be till next year.

I will vote for Turks reply. I have the red MTvector. I had it up at around 9000 ft with the stock clutching and it would only pull 8000 RPM. Next trip I will lighten up the clutching to get it to rev to 9000. I do not belive jetting for the one trip is nessisary.
