Just made my reservations for March. Three of us are heading out. None of us have been up there before. I'm staying in Sheridan and am not sure were to go from there? Any suggestions? Is there a mapsource online for the trails? Thanks.

There is some good riding from the parking lot at Burgess Junction on Hwy 14. Alt 14 is closed, unplowed and groomed during snow season. Bear Lodge at Burgess has maps, gas, and food. To the west around Bald Mountain is a beautiful place called Bucking Mule Falls...takes a little effort to locate it but the view is well worth it.

Thanks. We'll have to check it out monday. I hope the snow holds up or they get something by next weekend. Looks like the temps will drop back down to the low 30s by the weekend.

Do you suggest putting in at one of the lodges or somewere else? Thanks.

The parking area at Burgess Junction is public. I know that there are several of these areas available as I talked to people that had used them just to the west of Sheridan.

The advantage to staying at any of the the lodges is that you can ride right from the door rather than having to load and trailer each day.

Seen those maps already. I was hoping someone would have more detailed ones scanned in. I'd love to stay at the lodges, but it's not worth what their asking for a room per night. I'd rather drive 30 minutes and dump the sleds than pay 3x the room rent.
