Not just the Viper but does anybody but me notice how BIG these things are getting. they are taller and much longer all the time.
My SXR 600 and Phazer ( trailing arm) where much bigger than my older SRV and Scorpion TKX.
They where both dwarfed by my Vector which incedently felt like a much higher seating position than the others it was also longer.
Now we have the New Viper and DOO, POO etc which are bigger then my 05 Vector which begs the question.......
Where exactly is the length coming from? if the track is still 121" and you are sitting more high and forward then If anything shouldn't it be shorter not longer ??? Where is the extra space?

Based on riding my 1993 Vmax-4, I have to agree. Feels like riding a small go kart...with a massive weight at the front. In the case of the Vmax-4, I would say the rider ergonomics are really short and compact compared to modern sleds, but on the other hand, the engine compartment is massive. Even with an inline four in there, it feels like there is loads and loads of storage room...

Right under the hood of our Zl 550 is tons of space yet the sled is dwarfed by the new stuff which has no space under the hood at all. It is also shorter then the new stuff.

Most sleds are going to the 128-129" tracks such as the viper and other sleds in the catagory, that lengthens the sled roughly 4" also I am 6'5" so kinda glad to see that. They are getting taller for rider comfort and also some ride hight. The rest is based on weight distribution and geometry for better handling based on the new taller long travel suspensions and widths to help balance them.

Right got that. My question is where in the sled itself is the extra length if its not in the track and the nose is shorter/tighter. is the tunnel longer in the gas tank gauge/ control center area?

Motors are being laid down more than before. Also fuel tanks extend further under the seat. Sleds are similar except motor is laid down more and the rider is moved further forward and above motor and fuel tank and they are laid down under the rider more also.
Just got a new nytro after few years sled less and I had the thought of trying an old sxr700 just to have almost no investment. However I sat on one and knees were up to my armpits and I couldn't turn bars if I tried. Don't remember how I ever rode my old srx or sx I had in the late 90s early 2000s

Tell me about it lol, I had a sxr 600 in 2000 and I am 6 ft 1, I think I would look like a Shriner riding it.
