No this is not too much oil in the oil tank. After my first trip was checking the sled over and there is oil in air Box. Cleaned out the air box did some minor maintenance and started up sled oil dump out all over the floor. Re-check box and sure enough, oil
Checked all the hoses going to air box and engine, no blockage or lose clamps.
The only thing I did that could of cause this was the engine did run with one vacuum lines was off the carb
For about 15-30 seconds.
Need help here thinking this might be the end of 2006.

All I know the 06's are very fussy about taking the air box's off.. There is a hose under the box that has a verrrrrrry short hose.. It's hard to put back on and falls off if not put on and clamped........ Without it hooked you can lose all kinds of oil in a hurry. It's very hard to spot from above.. MM.

I ran my sled without the vacuum lines connected to the carbs, when I was syncing them, and it did not cause oil to pump into the airbox, so I don't think that is your problem.

Could it be that valve thingy in the airbox is bad?

My wifes Vector LTX had airbox oil issues..it was the valve thingy in the airbox... it would freeze up with snow. Once thawed ran normal...happens every now and then..I bring it in and thaw the machine out..Could it be that valve thingy in the airbox is bad?

Several times though the years it seems that that's been the main cause of oil in the airbox issues.

When it was in the trailer it left a pool of oil on the floor on the right side.. This was after a powder intense ride. With sub freezing temps..I took it in and checked the oil pan nut, filter, etc. Pull the tank cover off as well as the any other cover on the machine and searched with a mirror and flash lite for any signs of leaks..only found oil in the airbox...Some one here had posted about that "thingy" that causes leaks..he was right. In my case it would freeze up. It can be replaced if you think it's not the freezing and snow. I believe the hose runs down to the oil tank from it. It's been a while.. no riding this year as no snow.. no snow in site either..no need to check under the hood for anything so I forgot what's under there...

Did a compression test and all three cylinders tested at 200lbs run the test twice same results.
Rings good to go.
Did the following multiply times:
Checked oil level with cold engine full mark
Checked oil level after the engine temp was at 115 deg. (Warm)
If the oil level was at full on a cold check it would pump out the oil (6 oz)
Checked oil at warm the level would be at the top empty mark.
Added 3oz of oil run the engine and re-checked again it would be at full WTF.
Run the engine again warm at the full mark, no oil blow bye.
Do you check the oil level at warn not cold?
If that is correct been doing this all wrong for ten years
Did find out pressure builds up in oil tank as the engine gets hot. Barely get the
Dip stick out when its hot, due to the pressure .
Following pic of how used a ¾ hose to check the blow bye, saved on miss it makes.
