My 05 Rs Venture has warped bogie wheels, supposedly from studding the track, and a limiter strap that was on it's last threads. Dealer just told me that Yamaha will not cover them under warrenty because they are wear items. Warped wheels? The weren't worn out and why are the replacements updated 06 wheels? Limiter straps that only last one season? I've been true blue for 10 years but this might change my mind. Anybody have any success with these issues?
MadDogJ.....got no pins on mine... and yes one outside warped wheel last season and a strap(completely cut); both when onto waranty. As preventive maintenance 2 weeks ago, i replaced both straps (definitely in a state of soon to replace) with some Kimpex brand one as a tester.
Both my sled and my dad's had a few warped bogie wheels. He brought them to the dealer and they replaced them under warranty. Bitch to your dealer and he should replace them.

My inner wheels warped and limiter straps snapped.
Both were covered under warrantee.
The problem with Yamaha warrantee is that it is all subjective on the shoulders of the individual dealerships. I guess that is not a unique situation in terms of any motorized vehicle warrantee, but it sure makes life tough for people with crappy dealers.
Keep bitchin' until they want to just shut you up!

Talked to Yamaha customer service, talked to the dealer again, then to Yamaha again. They refuse to cover the wheels because of the studding. For those of you who said you got them covered and are studded, could you tell me how? Maybe your dealer didn't tell Yamaha that you were studded, now that would be a good dealer.

Mine were covered and I'm studded. However, my wheels were covered because they warped very severly to the point where the outer races of the bearings were no longer attached to the plastic! The wheels were oval shaped and the bearings almost fell out.
Studs cause the outer edges (What should be the "tire") to wear at a slight angle. This really isn't a problem.
The problem with the stock boggiesis that there is no rubber on them, and therefore, no give when they are impacted from bumps, jumps, etc. The continual impact from normal trail conditions causes them to warp. If there was a rubber outer edge (Call it the "Tire") on them, the rubber would give to the impacts and adsorb most of the energy before the wheel portion (Call it the "Rim") is damaged. The stock Boggies are like a rim with no tire on it! Imagine running something like that on your truck! That is the problem and they corrected it in 06. That is why rejections of warrantee claims is complete BS.
Keep fighting until your dealer gets sick of you and just replaces them!

My dealer just took the old ones, and got me new ones. I had 4 warped off my 05 Warrior with 1500 miles on it. I told him they warped at 200 miles, which they did, and I didn't get around to taking them off. My Son's Warrior had 1 warped with 700 miles. I took them off and brought them up to him, and he replaced them. I imagine he put in for labor.
Guess it depends on the dealer, and I did not buy the sleds from this dealer.
