I finally received my control box from Boondocker and went riding in Munising this past weekend with the nitrous system working.
For the first outting I went with the 30HP jets and set the box to +45 Fuel (thanks to Stoutner for the base settings and dyno results). I currently have the system wired to a small micro switch next to my brake lever. I like being able to hit the spray for just a couple seconds if that's all I need, so not having a WOT switch is preferrable, at least for now. And none of mu buddies noticed the button, so that's a plus.
I could barely tell the nitrous was working in the cold (15F - 20F) with the 30HP jets. Bottle pressure was only 550 psi so I'll be figuring out a heater of some sort, maybe just using handwarmer elements. RPMs would jump by ~200 on the spray so it was definitely working, just wasn't the kick I expected.
Even w/o the spray I was able to beat my buddies and that's all I really wanted anyway. One was on a stock 05 ZR9 and the other on a stock 06 F7, I could pull away from a holeshot or rolling start. On one race the F7 jumped in front before I knew he was racing and 3 seconds of nitrous got me back in front of him and I let off the button and let the engine take care of him.
On the next trip I'll start with the 40HP jets (with the fuel set at +55) and hopefully feel the results I expected. Having a lot of experience with nitrous on cars I'd like to see the bottle pressure at 750 psi at the very least (900 psi preferred), so to me a heater is essential with this kit in the cold.

Had a PM asking about the micro switch, contact Paul at Straight Up Performance, www.straightupperformanceandsalvage.com - he did the full install and I highly recommend him.

The Boss system compensates for bottle pressure right? The Boondocker system needs a bottle heater. It adjusts the fuel to the bottle pressure, but has no way to compensate for the fact that the bottle is only 600 psi. At 600 psi my 30 HP jets are lucky to be flowing 15 HP, so that's why it isn't hitting hard - yet. With a heater and 900 psi I expect the system to hit as hard as any other. This is why so many guys like the Holtzman and Boss kits.
