Has anyone seen or heard on anyone having bad luck with side mount boondocker turbo? The census on my supercharge info that people have replied to says turbos are better. I know there's alot of turbo companies out there, like MC Express, Alpine, Simon's CPR they more or less do the same thing, just a little bit different applications. I would just like a bit of feedback.

Boondocker is a good kit. They had some issues with their boxes at first, but it sounds like they figured them out last year and changed them a little to be more user friendly. I think boondocker has good customer service, price, and nice clean install. I don't really care for the midmount kits as much because of turbo location and a smaller gas tank.
Dave with powederlites has excellent customer service also and frequents this site. He is a great guy and tries very hard to be the best in the business.

If set up properly, all the turbo kits you mentioned will run very similar. I had a Boondocker turbo on my rx1 and it worked great. The only time you really notice the sidemount weight is if you are turning going down hill and the turbo side is the side facing down hill. Other then that it was great.

No issues with heat, oiling for turbo? How do you check the oil with the compartment under the intercooler, does it require removal of the intercooler? How loud is it on a hard packed trail, not tolerable for a trail only sled? I dont see many muffler options. Thanks

Great questoin kinger ~ I have the same questions. I know the turbo consumes some of the exhaust sound but how much? That is a short outlet pipe....

The only issue with oil is that you get a little blow by from the crank case ventelation hose when it's bled o the atmosphere. I had mine gravity fed to the front nose of the sled and lost a little oil. One of my buddies with a Apex curved his hose up above the ventelation and had a filter on it and only lost a little oil once. He has 3,000 miles all boosted with a Boondocker turbo. I did forget to mention that you do need high qualiity break fluid, if you don't and make a long pull you can loose your breaks. I never had this problem even with stock oil, but one of my other buddies did and it freaked him out. My other buddy made a little heat shield, problem solved also. Never any issues with oiling the turbo. Just make sure you use a oil restrictor. The oil bottle is under the intercooler, but you can check the oil level with out taking the intercooler off. The way the oil bottle is made the dip stick actually sits just to the right of the intercooler. Just as easy to get to as stock. I never did do much trail riding so I can't comment on that.

All that being said, I now ride a mcxpress Apex. All those little things now would annoy me knowing what I know now. BUT as far as performance goes again if both are set up right they will perform pretty close.

I think you will find that a lack of muffler on the sidemount won't be too good for our area. The turbo will always be faster no matter how you look at it. I would like to play some more with a new Powderlites kit and the RB3 however I'd rather ride my doo now :P
