Bouncy front end

I've installed the progressive rate spring in the rear from Barn of Parts and it works sweet. 300 miles so far and it has yet to bottom out. I'm very happy with the upgrade. Now to the front. I had my front shocks rebuilt last year. Still have the stock springs on. It's an 06 er. When going through smaller bumps the front seems to bounce. I have the springs fairly loose in order to keep the a-arms parallel. Any thoughts?
 
upgrade to some GYTR's or Ohlins. you can adjust rebound and compression. Being able to do these adjustments can take out your bounce.
 
It's possible that your shocks need rebuild. How many miles since you had them serviced?

Springs will not make it bouncy. The springs hold the weight and allow the weight to travel up and down thru the stroke of the suspension design.
The shocks are what supress the oscillations of the springs.

Right, it seems like the shock isn't doing it's job, all spring. I was looking at upgrades but even used better shocks are more than I want to pay right now. Maybe a revalve? They are the original springs on the front with 10277 miles on them. I'll probably just wait till next season and upgrade. This season is looking like toast around here already. 55° yesterday and maybe 60° on Wednesday.
 
I wonder, for me at 180lbs dressed, if I could go with something like a 4.0/5.5? Hard to say.
 
I ordered the 5-6.5 for myself at around 200lb geared up. I found the stock spring (5.0)to weak for my riding style. I'm not a driveway jumper but like to hit some of the beaver damns in the swamps once in a while.
Always fully bottomed out with the stock rate.
 
I only bottom my sled out once or twice a year, usually due to a dip in the trail at higher speeds. So I probably don't need the final spring rate to be much higher.

If these are the original springs, then it's the springs causing you the problems. They are worn do not provide the proper resistance anymore, 10,000 miles HF man change the spring already. Doesn't matter how many revalves you get, the guy doing your revalve should know this by testing the spring, or a least he should.
