So does the old air box mod (2010 and earlier) from Ulmer work on the new 2011 and 2012 air box? What about the sparks plugs do they work on the 2012?

i went with a box but never touched plugs, not that big of a hp gain for tearing that deep into the sled although its already been down to the tunnel and repaired after an oopsie last winter. box and pc5 with heelclickers

Plugs dont give any gains, and the box is not the same as the old style. Allen may swap a new air box for a old one.

I agree, the plugs suck for cold weather starting as well.

The mod is done to the lower part of the box. The new box is different than the old box. The mod is the same for either box.

Yeah, I was thinking of just copying my 06 Air box... wasn't sure about the plugs

smarter than Yamaha?

Why do you think you are improving the sled. Do any of you have an engineering degree? Yamaha was called by one of the magazines, about changing the plugs. They laughed. If there was a change in performance, you wouldn't notice it. I can remember years ago, that one of our members wrote that he stopped on the trail, changed to the cooler plugs, and could feel the difference. BULLSHIT!

I agree, IMO, plugs are overkill. But other mods these guys are talking about are known to make a difference and show gains in some form. You think Yamaha tunes these sleds right from the factory to be as fast as possible? I don't, other things come into play, such as fuel economy, emissions, clutch engagement etc.
