Has anyone upgraded their brake system by installing a braided stainless steel brake line? I've installed these on my sport bikes with good results, better brake feel. At the recent snowmobile show in Springfield MA I took a look at the new Cats. The only good thing I saw on these sleds is that they are using a braided stainless steel brake line. These lines look much better han the stock lines. :yam:

I put one on my ZR when I installed the riser mainly because the exposed copper one looked like crap. Cost $90 Canadian but worth it in the looks department.

Brakes are better with some give to them... makes it easier to control the amount of breaking. I absolutely would not want the brakes on this machine to be any less springy, in fact, I would like it if the lines were a little MORE springy.

LB, I can tell you've never owned a Cat. Their brakes are extremely aggressive with very little cushion. Once you get used to this..... nothing else is as good.

I put one on my SX-R. It is easier to avoid track lock-up when braking hard. Modulating the braking force can be done with adjusting the pressure you apply, instead of moving your fingers in and out (as with a spongy system). This is the basis for almost all brake systems advancements (stiff lines, less flexible calipers, stiffer brake levers.) I just put one on my Rage. I haven't tried it yet, but with a 10 kg squeeze on the lever, the movement went from 13-14 mm down to 8-9 mm once it was properly bled. Go for it.

Yo LB, is this word "springy" A technical term??????

I do however agree with the LB on this one, I think the stock brakes are kind Of "Grabby" and lock up the skid a little to quickly..............Cubby

I TOO AGREE.. The brakes are extremely grabby and lock up easlily..

I had a 95 zr700 with the willwood brakes and my warriors brakes are equally as good as them!! Just touchier!!

I wouldnt waste the money the braided line!

Once you go crap you don't go back?

Hey, I came over from the dark side didn't I??? The funny thing is that every once in a while, I get the urge to go back ........ I get snapped back to reality when I listen that four holer under the hood, and then everything is good again :D

Some would argue that, particularly very aggressive riders, who can overheat the brakes. The braided lines do give a more positive feel and won't stretch when the fluid gets hot. I have overheated Polaris brakes in years past, and then your brakes just go away, not good. Just the same, I like the stock Yamaha brakes just fine too.

I personally like the braided lines... After owning a slew of different street bikes and trying to get the brakes to get the rear wheel feet off the ground, a touchy brake makes me feel good
