Brake Light/ Tail Light

I know it may not be the proper way to get this fixed, but, what if I soldier spliced a wire into that ground wire right there by the plug and attach the other end to a bolt on the chassis? I hate doing a shortcut, but this only the ground for the tail light.

that will work fine

I wonder if your grounding blocks are coroded and you will have more issues soon may want to locate them and check them for condition.

Just found this post
Had same problem, intermittent on off on the running tail light and same when i hit the brakes.
Then it just stopped working.
Had power to green and the blue red wire but know ground.
It was the grounding block under the coolant tank.
I had to take the tank off to get the 2 coolant tanks off to get at it.
light works great.Grounding block was green.

Thanks TY4stroke and all of the above posters

Remove the brake switch assembly and clean it out and use some fine grit sandpaper to clean the terminals. Had the same issue with wonky lights and it turned out to be the switch. All works great now.
