Break calliper or rotor noise

Been searing here with not much luck my 2018 ltx has been developing a loud scuffing or grinding noise in the brake calliper area at low speed it can be herd no problem with no helmet on it’s crazy loud sound like bearing behind rotor is bad but more speed it goes completely away when it’s doing it I can just lay my finder on brake lever and it goes away but do notice u can feel pulsating in the lever
Sled has 1700km has been flawless up to this
Noise started at 1200km and seems to be getting worse
Just wondering if anyone else had an experience like this

I’m not studded as of yet
I’m taking it to my dealer tomorrow morning and dropping it off I’m worried they gonna tell me the same thing and to get use to it

Speed be 18 to 25 when loudest in loose snow can feel it in my foot on the left side

Mine never did this for 9000 miles until I had the driveshaft replaced under warranty and they put the upgraded brake rotor in. Now I have the rotor noise as well. Just like you when I touch the brake it goes away. Its like the brake pads are rattling on the rotor.

I'd have a look at the bearing, as those millages it could very well be a bad bearing. The race turns on the shaft, witch generates heat, then the grease breaks down, and bye bye bearing. Changing a bad one on mine now. 2500 + kms that had bearing retaining compound. But by the looks of it maybe ran 400 -500 km turning on the shaft.

Also seen putting copper anti seize on the brake splines to stop some vibration and noises (but the noise you are describing doesn't sound like that)
Maybe check that your rotor isn't rubbing on something...

I’ve noticed it the last few weekends we run a 500km trip on weekend and was getting to me the noise
Me and young fella went out to play in snowdrifts yesterday it was then with just a winter hat on I realized how bad it really sounded

I think the run out of the rotor is not true due to the small pulsating of the brake lever
Run it on a stand and noise not that loud with track off ground but can see brake pads bouncing around

And I did check the rotor it looks ok not hitting anything had brake pads out the look good but did notice a lot of wear on back of them from the brake pistons

Check your primary spring it may be broken. I had all the same symptoms as you and found my spring to be broken. Changed spring and presto. Just my experience

I had changed brake pads too hoping that was the issue but it was the primary spring.

The broken spring didn’t effect engagement rpm or too end rpm?

Barely noticeable engagement rpm drop. I’ve been low on my top RPM due to the Ultimax belt
