Hey Guys, found a broken arm on my sled today (naturally as there is 5" of fresh stuff on the ground). It's the front arm on the skid. I found other posts saying Yamaha updated that arm and beefed it up. My question is was there a recall on this? It's not under warranty anymore obviously.

Nope, I think your buying one but try groveling to your dealer, he might do a deal for you if you have a good relationship with them.

Weld it up and ride tomorrow if you can. Odds are dealer will not have in stock and I hate to waste good riding time.

I don't weld, nor do I know anyone around that does. Think I'm going to order up a new one today and possibly take the broken one to get it welded so I'll have a spare if it breaks again. I found one one for 186.00 online at another dealer and the dealer near me wanted almost $250. I can't believe how badly it was broken, I attached a pic.

Welcome to the club.......

Broke mine twice (1 was the updated version). Found a stock take off one on Ebay for $70 and welded 3/16 plate gussets onto it, had no more problems.

Can you please post up a pic or just describe where you welded the gussets.

Schmidt bros has a kit to replace that front arm as well if you cannot afford the whole kit which also comes with an updated pivot link. You can send them your front arm and they can repair it and reinforce it for you.
I have a stock non-updated arm, it hasn't broke yet but then again the center shock is way too stiff from the factory which could have aided to the breakage. Need's yearly inspection.

It was done on all 4 corners (both sides), bottom about 1/2 way from the pivot point to the edge of the arm.

I had the updated solid "W" bracket which doesn't fit in the '07 OEM slots to mount as it's wider.
Used a Bridgeport milling machine to remove some material from it.

We braced them when we raced see the pictures, we didn't brake meany after that
