Just got my new Apex back from the dealer who installed new hyfax and 6 larger wheels on the skid. Feeling pretty good about things but after just 120 miles the two inner wheels were completely destroyed. This was accomplished by riding on smooth groomed trails. So far I havent got a complete weekend ride in with out breaking.
Is this a lost cause, or is there any hope fir a fix?
Thanks for your help!

i put 6 (135mm, 6205 bearings) ski-doo wheels on 4 years ago and there still like new, all i do is once a year clean the old grease out of the bearings and re-pack ;)!

Shark Attack: The Doo Wheels are 135 mm, How much larger are these when compared to the oringinals? I think the dealer installed Poo wheels.
Thanks!

If he installed larger wheels with "6205" bearings without machining the REAR INNER mounts they will NOT last cuz of them not running centre of track cogs, they're hitting the cogs and distroying them, you MUST machine mounts 1.5mm then everything will be fine...

that is true

135mm help out on hyfax wear also, on mine track i run the 135 doo wheels, the narrower hyfax which are the old yamaha ones, the slp anti-wear pads and i run my track just loose enough so it doesn't rachett

Because the bigger wheels puts extra force on the stock mount, it will eventually crack your rails. Use the Doo two bolt mounts which is also at the correct position between the cogs without machining. Avoids having to machine the stock mount too. Rockerdan has a full writeup with pics.

I've used that info and it turned out great.

did you fix them yet?

To machine the mounts for the doo wheels.

Do you take it off the front so the bearing fits on the shaft or do you mill the back and use washers on the front?

As per the first pic, grind off a bit to clear the rail, a bit at the bottom to clear hyfax and drill out hole to allow the stock bolt and nut to be re-used. You just need to get a bolt for the lower hole (I used stainless with a nylock nut) and corresponding hole drilled in rail. Second photo (from Rockerdan) shows it on the rail.

That's it. It's already at proper position so no further machining is required.
