i just dont wana buy a sled i cant drive the whole reason i own a yamaha is because i want it to run every time i wanna ride it and i havent had many issues with my yamahas i think i will stast a poll to see what percentage of people have broke that rear link in the suspension

$4900 EH? I'd like to put a price on 35 days in the shop. 7 missed weekends of riding. And more problems that all 4 of my previous sleds combined. The FX's have definatly had more breakage than the GT's an well. I wouldn't pay that for a 07 phazer. Maybe an '08.....

i dont know how long theyll last. i just rode mine in 2 ft of lake effect, and it didnt like it at all. lights flashing track ratcheting bottoming out motor shut off got the extended warrantry let yamaha fix it.

ive never been nervous about buying a yamaha product and i really like my apex, but the more i read about the phazer the more i dont want one. thanks for the input guys

No major issues with my Mtn Lite, not sure
what the build differences are, but the GT/FX crowd sure seems to have more issues..

love/hate relationship

I just bought my 07 fx and have about 300 miles on it. I am headed to the shop today to drop it off for multiple fixes including the reverse that only works about 25% of the time and the rear shock that fell apart and lost a bolt off of one of the front arms that connects to the frame.(stripped) I also need to have the steering looked at and there are multiple screws that must had been stripped during the assembly process, as well as a bolt that I found in the side housing(?). I did love the 300 miles untill everything started falling apart. The dealer has been real good so far and I hope I will love this sled again. GOOD LUCK with your purchase :o|

07 Phazer trouble

I brought an 07 NEW on 12/31/07 off the dealer floor. I put 80 (easy) miles on it and had to bring it back on 1/6/08. The sled is still sitting at the dealer waiting for the Yamaha service tech to come fix it tomorrow. He needs to tear into the engine and replace the reduction gears. It had all the 08 updates, but no know told me about this......

The good thing is, the dealer and Yamaha have been good about it. They are giving me 3 years of warranty at no cost!

Ask all kinds of questions when buying last years stock. Yamaha was aware of my issue but because a lot of 07's went unsold, they are not sure how big the problem (tolerance issue on the gears) was!

These sleds are trouble prone! It drives me nuts that some people are still recommending them when people ask if buying one is a good idea. To top it off, if you want to get out of it, you'll lose your shirt because they now have a bad rep......... :o|

The thing is that 97% of the guys that are having problems with the sleds are saying at the end of there posts that there 100% happy with the sled other than the problem they are having with the machine and there having a blast riding them. When you buy a sled new are you really sitting there in the dealer thinking what the resale value is gonna be after you go a whole season beating the crap out of it no. Sledding costs money, it always has and always will. so your goin to replace parts here and there when you land a big jump all crossed up ,accept it!
