Hey Guys,

I'm going to be selling my apex shorty for a viper xtx se. They still have it in the crate so they can't build until Monday. What do I need to make sure they do? Recalls? Issues? Etc? Or if you wouldn't even get a '14 again....

Thanks for the heads up!

I think the only update on that is the reverser actuator.

Have them check the chain tightness. I had loose clamps too. No reverse issue here.

Perfect! You guys extremely happy with them?
Need a longer track these days...lol! I'd rather be tired from riding not tired from diggin!!

I will tell you that the XTX will just walk right out of that snow pile your in. Not sure if the stock motor will create the track speed to do it but mine was burried over the windshield and a mountain rider got on it and just pinned it rocked it side to side it bit and pulled the skis straight up and walked right out. (6#'s of boost)

Yamadog, sounds like your xtx works good in deep snow, how does it handle on trails, is the rear real stiff with the fox float???

Well honestly it is still a work in progress and really depends on the snow conditions. I am running simmons skis with 36" of carbides and on hard packed trails it steers like a Mac Truck and has a push. On loose snow it does not turn by just turning the bars. The XTX is uncoupled and any throttle input in the turns lifts the nose and removes ski pressure. from corner to corner its mind blowing just have to reel it in - in the turns.

I am going to add the coupling blocks and try it that way.

The turbo is insane!!! if you read my posts I have had my share of issues including blown motor. But just got it back and put a true mountain rider on it yesterday in 5 to 7 ft of snow and he was doing thing I cuold not believe - I wish I had my camera with me to shoot video.

They do push and will never be on rails through the corners but if you play this sled is unstickable if you can ride!

upgrade wear bars to at least dual 6" and add large tunnel pack and your rady to go. I did A LOT more and most is a waste of money $1500 front shocks, Simmon skis, 4th wheel kit - not installed yet, rear tunnel flares not necessary oh but hand guards and taller windshield are a good idea.

This sled is a monster with 190 hp and next week I am pushing it to 10#'s of boost 235 HP will be insane. I am installing switch so I can trail ride at 6#'s and lake race at 10

I am not real happy with the rear skid shocks but have to stop somewhere it does handle rough trails 1 to 2' chop like it is not there. I loosend the front skid shock to no spring tension and have 120 lbs in the rear fox.

I'm curious if the stock 1.6" will be enough for decent powder riding. We've gotten a ridiculous amount of snow for the area but don't want to always be to the bar. I'm mostly a stock setup kinda guy but have never ridden a long track.

as already said: reverse servo, all coolant clamps (this is an issue with the cat too!) and i found my alignment was way off. don't think most dealers check this.
