does anyone have any experience with the caliber grip glides for open ramps? I have a tri fold ramp that I use when I put the sled in the truck. Currently the ramp is set up with Chanel's with plywood inserts but after years of this I am not a fan of loading with any kind of a "run" at the truck. My thought was to remove the outer plywood inserts and add the grip glides on the 1 inch ladder runs on the ramp, then leave the middle piece and add something to grip the track so I could walk the sled up slowly. Does anyone use something like this set up. Thanks for the help

I bought a tri fold with the ski guides on it already, then saw the dressed caliber ramp at the sled show and almost cried lol. i will probably add their center ramp grips at the end of the year in case i have to load another sled with studs. when my dad bought his i loaded it and have a hole in one of my center cross "ladder" bars. i dont know if this helps you at all as im having a hard time understanding what you are asking. the guides are nice and i can load from a stop with the skis touching the ramps.
I have this ramp right here. I put the plywood in it but I was thinking of taking it out and putting the caliber grip glides on it instead of the plywood. So it would be open like the atv pic but with the grip glides.

I saw that one but didn't like that its just plywood, I figured it would get slippery when icy. my ski guides are screwed into the two sides and can be removed for summer (ATVs). I think the grip guides would be nice as long as they secure down. just may end up a little heavier in the end but I'm sure they would have more traction than the wood or bare aluminum for ATVs.
Yea the wood is super slippery, I think I am taking the wood out and gonna try the grip glides.
Thanks for the help.

i had a similar problem with my tilt trailer, and made some plastic / wood channels, the ski rides on the white plastic and the carbides don't touch. loads / un-loads really easy. usually just pick-up the back and slide the sleds right out the back of the trailer, oh and an added bonus, the wife can even load her own sled with out hitting anything (there's a stop at the front now, so the skis always stop in the correct location for tie down)
