Anybody try these? I am in the market for some wider skis for more floatation. The Slydog powder hounds, SLP powder pros as well as the Simmons Wil run me with taxes $600+! These are only $270 complete with 6" carbide with free shipping in Canada! They are blow moulded desighn.
Question is, are you getting what you pay for or are these actually a good ski?

i think u get what u pay for, it dosent say keel size? i put on a set of white c& a xt skis, they r nice n wide and keel is like a 2x4 !steers awsome with great flotation, i never noticed any extra steering effort, but to answer your question no i have never used these. i live in canada and the c&a's were going to be like 700 complete from royal distrubting, i found online for like 400 us, check around

Ya I did some google research and some people liked them but one comment caught my attention, this one dude said , " you can hang 300lbs off the end of it & it doesn't bend"! So I am thinking they have no flex at all!i think u get what u pay for, it dosent say keel size? i put on a set of white c& a xt skis, they r nice n wide and keel is like a 2x4 !steers awsome with great flotation, i never noticed any extra steering effort, but to answer your question no i have never used these. i live in canada and the c&a's were going to be like 700 complete from royal distrubting, i found online for like 400 us, check around

hes right! why do u want em to flex, flex equels weak to me, their designed with a " flex pattern", just my opinion though, but i can tell u if u hit or bump into something u shoulnt they wont look like a pretzel after!!

He was actually complaining because he thought they were too stiff. I am not sure if stiff is better or do you need a certain amount of flex to soak up the bumps?hes right! why do u want em to flex, flex equels weak to me, their designed with a " flex pattern", just my opinion though, but i can tell u if u hit or bump into something u shoulnt they wont look like a pretzel after!!

i think the flex thing is more for trail traction, not sure if it's something u would notice under normal conditions , unless your trail riding at high speeds ( racing) through twistys, not 100 percent sure though, i remember going through these options when i got mine but that was a few years ago!!

Buddy of mine tried those and took them back after 1 month. He rubbed it hard on a tree in the bush and it tore the side out.

I put a set of c&a pro mtx's on my nytro xtx a couple of years ago. I love them. Got the front end up out of the snow and increased handling substantially on and off the trail.

The c & a I had on my 07 Apex was to aggressive, they didn't like that much weight on them from the heavy apex. Might be a lot better with the power steering but unfortunately even if so, those skis are up around $700 with taxes here in Canada nowI put a set of c&a pro mtx's on my nytro xtx a couple of years ago. That's fair. The apex would have a little more motor weighing down and digging them into the trails

Kimpex Stealth skis are 7" wide and around the same price if you want to give them a try. Another option.

I have a set of those Camoplast 7" blow molded skis with 8" double down carbides. Were on my wife's old Doo and when it died, put them on my sled because I was tired of the darting from the SlyDogs. They're actually not that bad and the price is right. Ugly as a dog's butt though. It has a fairly wide keel too which is why it can take the Double Downs, unlike the SlyDogs with the skinny keel. They steer OK but can push a bit in the corners. Haven't tried them off trail yet but floatation should be OK.
