I am going to put a supercharger on my apex.but I want to use only 10 lbs of boost, with a shim..so I can run super gas..but if I want to put 50/50..can I put it up to 16 lbs of boost.this is why I would go for the stage 2..if not then its the stage 1..I am not changeing the exhaust..there are just too many cops and they will not let you go unless you have stock pipes..got stopped twice this year and I asked them..they told me you have to have stock..there is no aftermarket exceptions..sure he said you can ride..but if they notice it..then its on the tow truck..plus :bling I need to be able to turn it down to ride with my wife..she loves the trails..so getting 50/50..is not possible ..heck even super is hard to find..but I could carry some boost.no Meth just want to turn the key and not have to check that toooooo...but with my wife on trails for me this 16 lbs would just be a waste of money..I only need it really when I go out west..unless I can turn it down to just 10 lbs.its going to be stage-1..thanks guys ...Jack

And which charger..I was thinking of going to Custom Sled shop.in Sharon Ontario

Yes you can run a Stage 2, as if it were a Stage 1. Need 2 sets of pulleys, 1 for 10 psi and 1 for 15 psi. I've been running my stage 2 at 10 lbs for two years now with headshim and 91 octane. If your going to buy a brand new S/C, call Heath or Mac and talk with them. They have a stand alone fuel system coming out for the Apex, much better than there Gems 2 fuel controller. If your like me bouncing all over the place in allitudes where you ride this will be a sweet system, turn key and ride no fooling around with fuel controllers when you jump up 2000 feet. Second they have a blowoff valve that you can controll your boost with. Put the 15 psi pulleys on, and when riding with your wife you can blowoff down to 10psi. It is a sweet system as well. So ya call heath or mac at MPI and talk to them about it. The list for the standalone is growing fast.
I'm just watching the dollar and as soon as it hits par or even a little higher hoprfully I will be buying mine.
I've played with the Gems 2 and even a RB3, the RB3 works better than the Gems 2 but is not allitude friendly. Hope this helps you out. Once you pull the trigger on that S/C you will be in heaven, nothing like a boosted sled.

i would talk to heath at mpi or call g force they run superchargers and there in quebec its a matter of who you are comfortable with as for custom sled shop in t.o ive heard more bad stories than good

seems you can back off a stage 2, to stage 1 levels, you can't make a stage 1 do stage 2 boost, hmmmmmm. I contacted MPI as to upgrading my stage 1 to stage 2 - $ 2500US (ouch!) In hindsight, I'd buy a stage 2 ;)!

what's the cost difference up front?

how fast do you want to go?

what fuel do you have access to?

Yes allways do your homework, then sit down and really think what you want, what your striving for, what the wife will let you get away with :o| :o| and finally what do you think you could live with.

Price difference is only $500. I have had a stage 1, 2 and 3 and for everyday riding I would run a stage 2 at 10lbs. Then you can put race fuel in and turn it up.

I thought of running it at 10..and when I want to play..I would just turn it up and change the fuel..now is a shim kit enough..cause this is going to be done by moi...and the shim will be enough of an adventure for me.ya my wife is on my side..she said be sure you get enough power. ;)! .what a wife. :tg: and as far as the money..sold my house and with the uni-stone and tiles etc I did..made 125000 $ in 4 years. :-o .and thanks for the info.. Jack

Ya a head shim is enough for 10 psi and 91 octane. When you want 15 psi mix 50/50. I would go with prologger and there blowoff valve system. So you can run the big pulleys for 15 psi blowwoff down to 10 when riding with your wife. Get the standalone fuel system as well. I was talking with Mac yesterday at MPI and ordered mine. He's going to send me a early one so I can give feed back on his instructions and ease of installment.

You have one good woman there :jump: :-o if all she said was to get enough power.
