You're missing a third hand.
Try lifting (and then supporting) the rear of the sled off the ground to unload the suspension. This may give you a little more room to move. Make sure you're turning the nut in the proper direction. And, maybe try knocking the nut tight with few hammer taps on the end of long screwdriver tucked into a notch on the nut.

This is what I had to do, no way was that spanner wrench going to turn it. I need to re-adjust it soon, I'm going to have to do the same thing.

Bub, if you haven't pulled up the limiter strap yet if may be just as easy to pull the skid and adjust that spring with it out. JMO Good Luck!!Bub said:I am having a hell of a time getting to the spring in the rear suspension to tighten it.. I have the spanner wrench... Cant seem to get it on the nut... I have an 08 rtx.. Bub.......try removing at least 1 of the inner idler wheels. I had my sled hanging 5' off the ground & there was no way I could turn those nuts..........just not enough room. Get rid of the idler wheels & you should have room to turn the wrench.......
YMMV

I ended up using a flat head screw driver and a hammer. Just gently tap on it to get the Nut loose. Then you can tighten the Spring by twisting the spring itself

the only way i could adjust the spring was by removing the wheel.. I was feeling stupid thinking this was the only way to access the nut. I am about 300 pounds.. how much pressure should I have on the spring.. I cranked it up about a quarter inch from the bottom.. took alot of pressure off the skis.. Love it accept I still spin a ton in the deep snow... what next

I just took off the right side inside idler wheel. Then it was real easy. The idler wheel is super easy to remove.

I hope you mean the top. If its a quarter inch from bottom you took off preload and you will bottom it easy. I just got done turning mine up as I was having issues with it bottoming out.
