I'm very dumb. Can someone please tell me how to adjust the pilot jet and or fuel srew on these sleds. I pulled the carb, cleaned in really well. The main jet is the large one, the pilot jet is the small one. What do you adjust for proper pilot idle fuel? Do you seat the pilot jet then 2 turns out? Or am i missing something?
the fuel screw is usually under a plug on the carbs to get it through emissions testing. usually all the jets are in tight and you turn the fuel screw out 1-1/2 turns from lightly seated as a starting point. all sleds are different, so you might have to adjust it from there until it runs right. only do it in 1/4 turn intervals.
Carb Cleaning has the basics and some good pictures. you will want to do a carb synch as well as it can fix some isuues with the sled as well. **Syncing Carbs On A RX-1 similar procedure to a 3 cyl.
i do not do this job often but these are the pages i reference when i do.
Thanks for the reply. I did find the fuel screw under the silver cap that needs to be drilled out. I was confused by this not seeing the cap in the parts diagram. Anyway cheers. I'm gonna get a 540 VK next year just because its the only bush machine available now. Not that these 4-strokes are all that bad. I just love the simplicity of a single carb, 2-smoke with clamshell hood. Pull an engine in 5 minutes type of bush machine.
