I took a tumble last year and the sled hasnt run since. I have racked my brain trying to figure out what it is. Today I worked on her again and as I let it idle (thats all it would do) I looked down in the carb area and saw some electrical arcing. Seems to me thats usually not a good thing. So I pull the carbs and one of the carb heat sensors ( I think thats what they are) was broken and shorting out the motor. So I unplugged all of them and the sled seems to be running now.
Question is this going to be any big deal? No codes or anything? Or is it insignificant?
They're electric carb heaters, not sensors. They turn on when the engine is cold but the ECU shuts 'em off when it's warmed up. You can buy replacements, but you can run without them.
