Does anyone know specifically how the carb heaters work? I understand that they come on at a certain temperature; below 85* and correct me if I'm wrong than they go off at a certain temperature and the coolant heat takes over.
I know that there is a 20 amp fuse for this circuit, and if they turn off at a certain temperature while the sled is running, are we then blessed with extra current for accessories beyond the measley 40 watts that is always available?

You know, you can always put a voltmeter on your dashboard, then you'll always know if you're overdemanding the power. The voltmeter should always show slightly (even very marginally) higher when the engine is running than when the engine is off with zero drain. Then you know that the charging system is making more than what is being drawn.

Voltmeters use very little power. You can run one off a 9volt for MONTHS.
