Anybody have a carb sync tool they would like to sell or loan out i need to sync my carbs and dealer wants $100 to do it.Looks very easy to do hate to give dealer $100 fo something I can do myself. Thanks Mike

Freddie's got great syncing instructions and the manometer to purchase, as described here:

Looks like purchasing the tool and doing it yourself once is a paying proposition

I took mine to my dealer today to have mine synced and it only cost me a case of Labatts Blue for the mechanic. I bet it didn't take him 15 minutes. He used a digital system and my carbs were so outta wack the right 2 carbs didn't even register any LED's.

I synched the carbs on two RX-1s today in the snowmobile parking lot with my Morgan carb tuner II. It took less than 20 minutes to do two sleds. I just want all RX-1s to run well so Yamahas as a whole look better. I'd hook you up if lived closer but it seems I'm many miles from you. Sorry.

Are the carbs typically out of sync from the factory.

I had mine synced at the dealer during the 1st checkup. The mechanic said they were way out.
As a side note, it didn't fix the "put, put, put" at idle. He then pulled the carbs and found the pilot screws all over the place. He set them to 2 turns out and the idle was "fixed" (the idle still has the occaisonal miss, but it's pretty good).
As far as driveability, I didn't notice any difference in power or throttle response. I did notice it's quieter cruising at light throttle, feels a little smoother, idles much better, and might get better gas mileage.
