I have an old Klim jacket that's beat and needs replacing. Before going and spending $400-$500 to replace it with 2 kids in college I was wondering if anyone has experience with the Castle X jackets. I like the looks and spec's of the new Charge G2 but it's just out this year so I thought I would ask if anyone has one of their older models and how it's worked out for water repellent, warmth, quality etc? Any suggested models of Castle X to look for...or avoid ?
I'd like to check them out and try them on rather than dealing online with sizes and returns but the Castle site that has the "Buy Local" button lists 6 local dealers for them... but when you call them, none actually carry the Castle jackets, not sure what's up with that but whatever. Thanks for any replies.

Love my castle x jacket, warm and waterproof. Used it one year and it doesn't show any signs of wear yet.

I went ahead and ordered the new Castle Charge G2 jacket (black to match the Apex) and it came in yesterday. Nice..really nice jacket, good heavy shell, good quality zippers, plenty of pockets, looks sharp, fits great and all for less than $270 delivered. A comparable Klim would be over $400. Ripping at 70 or 80 mph on a breezy -10 or 20 day will be the real test but at first glance consider me converted.

The Charge G2 has a zip out liner... very warm. Not sure on the best price... I deal direct with the Manufacture. You can search the web or try http://www.castlesales.com/shop-local/ and plug in your ZIP.

Would you say the Charge G2 is the warmest that Castle offers?
